Urgent & After-Hours Care

If you have a medical emergency, dial 9-1-1 or go to the nearest emergency room.

Using HMO Insurance

If you have an urgent medical need that's not life-threatening when our office is closed, consider visiting an Urgent Care Center (UCC) instead of an emergency room.  By doing so, you will reduce your out-of-pocket costs and avoid the long waits of an emergency room.  UCCs treat non-life-threatening medical needs such as minor cuts where bleeding is controlled, earaches, skin rashes, sprains, colds, coughs, sore throat, and most fevers. They also treat abdominal pain, broken bones, painful urination, and mild shortness of breath.  If you do have a medical emergency, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room regardless of your insurance.

Your HMO coverage includes a network of full-service urgent care centers right in your area. They are a part of the network, so you don’t have to worry about unexpected costs.  Nearly all of these centers also have on-site diagnostic equipment, including blood draws and x-rays, to ensure quick treatment and recovery.

Visit your local HMO network urgent care if you have any of these symptoms:

Using PPO Insurance or Don't Have Insurance

If you have an urgent medical need that's not life-threatening after hours, we offer after hours care during evenings and weekends based on availability.  Please check here to see if we're open.

If we are not open, please consider visiting any local Urgent Care Center (UCC).

  • Severe chest pain or pressure
  • A sudden, bad headache
  • Suddenly not being able to speak, see, walk or move
  • Heavy bleeding
  • Having thoughts about hurting yourself
  • Seizures (uncontrollable violent spasms)
  • Loss of consciousness
  • Poisoning or drug overdose
  • Severe wounds or broken bones
  • Head injury
  • Eye injury

When to Go to an Urgent Care Center

Urgent care is for non-life threatening conditions. Some examples of such conditions include:

  • A common illness like the flu
  • Minor fever or headache
  • Painful sore throat
  • Earache or sinus pain
  • Minor injuries like a sprained ankle
  • Back pain
  • Cuts or small wounds
  • Small burns
  • Rash or minor allergic reactions
  • Nausea
  • Diarrhea
  • Urinary tract infections

Go to an Urgent Care Center when:

  • you need care for non-life threatening conditions
  • you can’t get in to see your doctor soon enough
  • your doctor's office is closed and you need to see someone that same day
